Charming Stay in a Historic Setting

The decor was attractive and the reception staff were friendly upon my arrival. Bar service was prompt and efficient. I had breakfast in the Tea Rooms. It was delicious and the service was very good. The large window in my garden suite offered a pleasant Zen view. The room also included a comfortable king-size bed and tea making facilities.

This was a slight inconvenience when carrying luggage.

the bed was large, which i found acceptable.

i found issues with the room's maintenance. a noticeable damp smell permeated the room i stayed in. furthermore, the window seemed warped and would not open (i needed fresh air).

The room was not clean. the bathroom had hair in the shower. there was also dust on the furniture. this was frustrating after a long day of travel. I expected better attention to detail. it made me question the overall hygiene standards.
